What’s shaking my bacon this week?

• Big changes! 2009 seems like it’s been one big ball of giant sweeping changes. There’s one more giant rising on my horizon and I am both nervous & excited about it.
• Releasing my first pattern! The Twisted Thistle Beret is now available on etsy & ravelry.
• Sending out lots of intensely cute packages. I’m really enjoying the packaging side of my shop.
• Being a giant festive ball of brightly colored outerwear with a hot pink scarf & twisted thistle beret paired with my bright orange wool coat.
• Comfort foods. Seriously, there is something about mac n’ cheese that makes me feel mega-cozy. Especially when I prepare it in the same pot with the same big black plastic spoon that I bought when I was moving off to college in 2001. I purchased them expressly with the intention of making mac n cheese with them. I may or may not also be eating it out of the same oversized-bowl-mug that I used to as well. Some things never change.

What do I love this Thursday?

• My new tee shirt, a gift from my husband. It’s for those days. You know the ones. The Questionable Content comic is first appeared in is here.
• My job. I heart it with hearts & hearts! & now I have my permanent desk!
• Listening to James Brown at work.
• Plotting.
• Drawing. It makes me happy.
• Long, in-depth conversations with one of my dearest friends who lives across the country. We’ve been friends for over a decade. I miss her a lot.
• My amazingly talented friend Jenny (I’ve written about her 365 before—it’s currently on hiatus) created this kickass video:

What’s rocking your world this week?

Someone’s due for a new sketchbook. I got caught in a fit of doodling and resorted to the back of pages. Something infinite is peeking through.

Delicate and saucy. Satin underpinnings. Coy, rolling shoulders & eyelash flutters. Girlish and game.
