Dec 10 2009

hip, hip, hooray—it's Thursday!
What’s shaking my bacon this week?
- Big changes! 2009 seems like it’s been one big ball of giant sweeping changes. There’s one more giant rising on my horizon and I am both nervous & excited about it.
- Releasing my first pattern! The Twisted Thistle Beret is now available on etsy & ravelry.
- Sending out lots of intensely cute packages. I’m really enjoying the packaging side of my shop.
- Being a giant festive ball of brightly colored outerwear with a hot pink scarf & twisted thistle beret paired with my bright orange wool coat.
- Comfort foods. Seriously, there is something about mac n’ cheese that makes me feel mega-cozy. Especially when I prepare it in the same pot with the same big black plastic spoon that I bought when I was moving off to college in 2001. I purchased them expressly with the intention of making mac n cheese with them. I may or may not also be eating it out of the same oversized-bowl-mug that I used to as well. Some things never change.
What’s making little hearts flutter around your head this week?

~ receiving 2 holiday gifts from other depts. at work that include lots of dark chocolate
~ my boss has placed a bulk order for my cozies for his other subordinates and wants me to package them up all pretty + cards, and is going to pay me for the materials & service.
~ at tomorrow night’s office holiday party there is going to be dancing, including the cupid shuffle. i love to dance and love that line dance/song.
~ ooh, julie, i just thought – you may have a chance to get featured on a blog w/a lot of readers, for your shop. go to this page where i was recently featured and make a comment that you have a shop. include your website/email (only the website will show up to others, the email will go to the administrators only) and they might include you in a new post that is going to feature etsy sellers. actually i’m going to email you the email address so you can email her directly if you’d like. it’s kind of last minute but you still might get in. here’s the link to my feature, where she calls for more etsy sellers. look for an email from me!

if you haven’t checked out this blog, hurry and put it in your google reader. it’s a forum for women writers. awesome, awesome stuff. moving, hilarious, artistic. my new favorite website!
Hooray! That bulk order sounds fantastic! Congrats! I am super happy all your etsying/crafty-empire-building is going so awesomely! Keep it up, lovely lady!
I will totally look into that blog sometime over the weekend but I don’t think I’ll be able to squeeze into that particular feature—but thank you for the tip! <3
Crockpot recipes that cook themselves all day and make my home smell delicious while I craft; new beading supplies that Ms. Mail Lady brought me today; and finding the husband secretly staring at me while I blog (cuz you know he thinks he’ll be the star of it, ha).
Mmmm…got any particular favorites for the crockpot? I’d love a recipe if you’ve got one!
Also: don’t you love it when you catch them in the middle of a secret gaze? That’s one of the many wonderful things they’re there for, non?
