Things that I love this Thursday:

• It’s actually light out when I leave the office! Whee! Sunshine!
• Lovely lady friends.
• Hair appointment this weekend! Thank goodness!
• Trying really hard to get rid of a lot of the Stuff I have accumulated over the years. It is time for some serious purging! I just don’t know what to do with it all!
• On that note, we’re moving to California in a month! YIKES! I’ve been hush-hush about it but hot damn, cats out of the bag now. My husband landed his dream job so we’re a-going. I am totally freaking out! There is so much to be done! We’ll be in Southern California in a month! Crazy craziness! I am going to miss Chicago so much. I love this city! So! Many! Exclamation! Points!

• This delightfully mushroom-colored yarn I acquired. I must have more!

Real Estate Love: 228 W. Illinois in River North

Things that I love this Thursday:

• 228 W. Illinois. I absolutely adore this old fire station in River North. I’ve worked in River North (mostly) since 2005 so I’ve seen it a lot but finally stopped & took some pictures on a relatively sunny day. It’s glorious. I want to live there. Le sigh. & note the awesome building numbers! I swear there’s nothing I don’t like about this building.
• Ankle weather! As in, it’s warm enough for ankles (though not toes) to be out again! Cuffed jeans & ballet flats. Woo! Only in Chicago* is 40ºF+ something to be celebrated (any place that truly gets cold).
• Cha-cha-changes. It’s time for me to be excited.
• The idea of a discounted pre-sale price on hats! I was thinking about offering a limited number of pre-sale hats where you would be able to pick out your desired color from a palette & hat style in May for delivery by September. Buying one of these pre-orders would save you $15 off the full fall/winter season price. What do you think? Would anyone be interested in this?

What I’ve been up to? Creating a whole identity for my lovely soon-to-be sister-in-law, Theresa for her fresh new etsy shops: Lucky Hanks

For Lucky Hanks on etsy: an identity package!

Theresa makes some incredibly crocheted housewares & is about to launch a brand new line of soaps, shampoos & lotions made by her! It’s a fantastic little shop full of very useful (& totally reasonably priced items!). She based her company name on her two adorable pooches, Lucky & Hank but it’s also a cute little play on words regarding yarn! Her favorite colors are turquoise & orange. I came up with the header based on a photo of her two pups and once we were happy with that, I developed more of her identity suite:

Overall, I’m really happy how it all turned out & I know Theresa is too. I’m so excited for her new lotion & shampoo bar line—Get Naked!— that just came out! I’m looking forward to putting more Lucky Hanks stuff together.
