My cupcakes bring all the boys to the yard.

TiLT, part sixty-eight

working on some night cheese...

most of my evenings are spent a bit like this.

The things that are making this week alright:

  • My friend reviving his blog & some absolutely stellar photos! Check out Luke’s photos (& tutorials!) at ninethreestudio
  • Socially-acceptable breakfast ice cream (jamba juice)
  • Replacing fear with curiosity…and Yes and Yes. Uplifting without being too saccharine? Check. Funny and smart? And check.
  • Bicycling to work again! I missed Dolores!
  • Do you ever make a list of projects you probably will never start let alone finish? I certainly do and here’s a new one to add to it:  How-To: Felt Argyle Cushion cuteness!
  • More bicycle-love and a love of autumn, but you know the crunch of the leaves when you walk over them? that lovely noise that maybe makes you make an effort to step on every single leaf? That. Except instead of using my feet, I use my bicycle. :D
  • A friend shared this through google reader:  MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON
  • Lots and lots of knitting with lots and lots of different yarn. Excitement! I’m thinking about starting to do yarn reviews here on rottencupcakes…yay or nay?
  • It’s Monday but it’s OK!
  • Still majorly looking forward to my friend’s visit which is soon!

What’s the word, hummingbird?

YES! do yarn reviews! I love learning about new yarns.

What’s making me do the watoosy this week is finding out I get to have my very own Craftsman Bungalow. And making plans. I think I just found my new bedroom suit on craigslist for cheap.

Also along with the plans in my head and trying to make sure that I don’t blow my budget, collecting inspirational pieces to copy in DIY fashion by making a registry that takes from anything you can buy online. Great way to collect images and be able to access it from anywhere.

Ummm…and making tons of BeerSox in preparation for Houston Beer Week and Monsters of Beer.

I think my head just exploded.

      Yarn reviews it is!
huzzah for craigslist finds. they’re my favorite! I hope you’ll be posting lots of before and afters as you cute-i-fy your place.

~ Submitting HR paperwork to change my title at work to accurately reflect the higher level of work I’ve been doing all along. Due to budget cuts I can’t get a raise as well but the title change will help, and next year I can probably ask for a raise.

~ Tonight Grey’s Anatomy is back! I refused to watch this show in the beginning but then I watched Rome, fell in love with Kevin McKidd and downloaded old Grey’s episodes from the point where he joins the cast. Turns out that it’s a pretty good show.

~ I have several people asking for custom pieces or connecting me to good consignment spots or telling me to hurry up and get some stuff ready for their Christmas shopping. I’m slowly getting myself back into the knitting & sewing vibe and think I might get into a groove very soon! Time management is going to be key . . .

How do you manage your crafting time? Do you schedule it or set goals or just do whatever? So far I seem to get in really productive moods and will do a massive sewing session late at night. I’m find it hard to pull out the machine and just do 30 minutes here, 15 minutes there. When I make my cozies there are non-machine steps like trimming and sewing on the button and elastic, weaving in the ends on knitted cozies . . . but the actual sewing I’ve only ever done in big marathons. I don’t have a sewing room or space so I have to pull out my materials and do it at the kitchen table, which seems like too much when I’m not even going to spend an hour on it. I guess I need to get organized and have my basics ready to go so I can just pull them out and get going. Any thoughts?

      Congrats on your new title!

Having people interested in your work is awesome! Time management is a definite necessity.

How do I manage my crafting time? Hrm…I’ve never really thought about it too much. But now I’m going to! HRM. I’ll work on a big post of different things I do to keep myself creating this week. Thanks for the posting idea!
