Visual Adventure: Long Beach Flea Market #2

May 02 2013

Another visual adventure from the Long Beach Flea Market. So many pretty items to ogle.

Long Beach Flea Market: coral, key & insect brooch

Long Beach Flea Market: coral, key & insect

Loved the tiny flash of bright coral against the pearl-ish beads and iron key and this brass insect brooch. He would be perfect perched on a lapel or maybe a hat?

Long Beach Flea Market: bright colored extra long necklaces.

These brightly-beaded necklaces caught my eye. Loved all the colors and how well they would layer together.

Long Beach Flea Market: mannequin vogue and shiny rhinestones

More pretty glassware in green. A little more olive in this set. I especially like the bobbles on the tea cups in this set.

Cats! Cats! Cats! Ceramic cookie jar and clock.

Cats! Cats! Cats!

The crazy cat lady in me cannot resist kitten themed items! That clock always makes me think of Back to the Future and I’d love to have on in my house someday.

The houses in Old Towne Orange are so gorgeous! There are so many different styles of architecture in the area; it’s really wonderful to see all the different eras represented in one area. Each house is unique and beautiful. I love the gingerbread trim on this one and the pretty color palette they chose.

Treasures and visual delights abound. I took a gazillion photos so I’m going to split them up for a couple posts. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. This floaty peach dress caught my eye.

Crazy wallpaper at a bridal boutique in Orange County

My friend invited me with her for her wedding dress shopping and I could not stop staring at the crazy wallpaper— I love it! Kind of tacky/loud but still classy in a really odd way?

Pinterest: to organize your visual brain

I’ve had my Pinterest for awhile but realized I haven’t shared it on here! I absolutely love this site and have 27 boards so far— everything from design, fashion, decorating and more. It’s so nice to be able to organize all the crazy images I find delightful.

From my Pinterest board: Art Star

I’ve had a morgue file on my computer for years but the trouble with that is there’s no way to see a nice big grid of the images and attribution is a problem! I’m slowly going through my files and using Google’s Search by Image to locate the original creators so I can properly credit everything.

I guess that would be my number one tip: make sure you pin from the actual creator’s website and not websites like weheartit and tumblr— it’s important to credit the amazing creators that you find inspiring. On blogs in particular, make sure you pin directly from a specific post and not just the home page; especially if you would like to revisit that particular article.

So if you’re interested in seeing what’s inspiring me in the moment, please follow me on pinterest!

Magnificent:

“A Google doodle tribute to artist, performer, and pioneer Freddie Mercury for his 65th birthday in celebration of Freddie for a Day.”
& one of my favorite queen songs too (favorite usage is definitely Shaun of the Dead—Zombies & Queen=awesome).
