What I’ve been up to? Engagement announcements for my dear friends, Sooz & Yama.

The Engagement!

They just got engaged during a lovely weekend in Palm Springs, where Yama proposed to Sooz under the Pee Wee’s Big Adventure Dinosaur! How adorable is that?!

They wanted something fun and bright; reflective of themselves individually and as a couple. They wanted to include photos of them as children and they provided their own clever copy!

We used:

• #10 note cards in Poppy (orange)
• #10 envelopes in Chartreuse (green)
• 8.5 x 11 Cardstock in Luxe Cream which printed and then trimmed to size; we went with the luxe line to give a little more heft & texture to the announcements
• A roll of Supertape! to attach the cream cards to the orange
• My trusty rotary cutting board!

What have you been workin’ on?

What I’ve been up to? Creating a whole identity for my lovely soon-to-be sister-in-law, Theresa for her fresh new etsy shops: Lucky Hanks

For Lucky Hanks on etsy: an identity package!

Theresa makes some incredibly crocheted housewares & is about to launch a brand new line of soaps, shampoos & lotions made by her! It’s a fantastic little shop full of very useful (& totally reasonably priced items!). She based her company name on her two adorable pooches, Lucky & Hank but it’s also a cute little play on words regarding yarn! Her favorite colors are turquoise & orange. I came up with the header based on a photo of her two pups and once we were happy with that, I developed more of her identity suite:

Overall, I’m really happy how it all turned out & I know Theresa is too. I’m so excited for her new lotion & shampoo bar line—Get Naked!— that just came out! I’m looking forward to putting more Lucky Hanks stuff together.

Oooh! A new series!?
Yup: it’s just a little section that will be updates on whatever I’ve been working on lately. It might be design, fine art or crafting. It will just be another little peek into my visual world and a request for a peek into yours! What have you been working on? For the first installment, I’d love to show you a quick little template that I created for my friend Hillary’s blog (byhillary.com) for her new series: Colour with a u

She wanted to illustrate color palettes (like Tonal Tuesdays!) for her lovely readers and described her design aesthetic as “Bauhaus with bunnies” and here’s what I came up with. She needed something that she could easily edit in photoshop without much mush or fush. So I created a simple black and white design that she would be able to change out super easy. She has a 3 & 5 color template. Go see it in action!
